Changed Illustration Friday entry

I couldn't stand the other illustrationFriday entry I'd done, so I did a new one this morning. This one is more to my liking, although it's still rough.
Last night we watched the DVD "The Pacifier". If you haven't seen it yet, you've got to. It's hilarious and pretty family friendly all the way through.
Got to get back to work now.

Amy,

I really like this drawing and think it would make a great portfolio piece when completed. I would add some deep blacks and maybe some light washes of color. Dark contrasts alone might do the trick, have you tried charcoal pencil? They were my tool of choice in school. :)

Courtney,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! I really appreciate your encouragement. I think I may do it on a neutral toned background and use gouache and colored pencil. I do love charcoal too. Have you been using it recently? It does need more contrast, especially since it's a night scene. Did you do an illustration Friday piece?

i haven't used charcoal for a while. i did buy some the other day so everything i do doesn't have to be watercolor and ink. ;)
i do have a piece that is a bit on topic, you can see it in my notebook. i just love the city view and the hamster taking it all in. :)
