New Young Author
Have you read about the 10 year old boy who has begun writing a series? His name is Michael Dowling. I love hearing about kids using their creativity and taking the step to do big things. I can't wait to get my hands on his book and read it. The book is called "Corydon and the Island of Monsters"

I can't wait to hear more about it! I wonder--are kids smarter these days or are the adults in their lives just better at providing encouragement? Ten years old. Wow!

I wonder how many unknown manuscripts may be laying around by children who have now grown up..I wouldn't be surprised if several well known author's novels grew out of ideas they had as kids. I think the fact that several kids/young adults have published books is that their parents are more aware of the opportunities, or are bold enough to help them get their manuscripts out there.
It may also be the times...the fact that Paolini got a book published would make it more conceivable for other young authors to be published. The publishing world these days is so different from what it was even 20 years ago!
