A Painting

Here's the oil painting I'm doing for a friend. There are parts that I know need more work, but if I keep fiddling around with it, I'll make them worse. It was fun to do and I learned so much...on to the next one.

Amy this is just lovely! I love the composition and colors. the movement really works well -- the horizontal lines of the water, horizons, incoming wave; along with the vertical lines of the pear and the the children, especially the little girl whooshing the water up. Great job. I'm sure your friend is going to be very happy ;)

Linda,
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I'm not as knowledgeable about composition as I'd like to be, so it means a lot that you say that. I can't wait to see what my friend says...mainly because she loves art...and everyone loves pics of their kids....
What are YOu working on these days? I'll have to check your blog...still working on your new style for kids?

Right now I'm working on doing 2 finished spreads for my "Pinky" story and then drawing out the dummy and submitting it. I'm deterimined to get it done and OUT! I hope to have part of the 2nd spread up for Illustration Friday since it fits with this weeks theme "Play". Hope you can give me some feedback.

Cheers,

Linda

Hello, just ran into your blog. It's really amazing how many cool things it led me to. Thank you so much!

I love your pen and ink drawings. I just started using a dip last week. I'm kinda struggling with it but I'm sure it'll come in time.

Thank you again!
